EX-KD SRI
TERENGGANU WARSHIP

The Royal
Navy museum is complemented by the Ex-Kd Sri Terengganu warship
which was jointly contributed by the Ministry of Defense and the
Royal Navy Force. This ship had been in operation since 16
December 1963 for approximately 31 years, sailed as far as
68,926 miles nautical under the leadership of 24 Ruling
Officer. This ship was involved in the peacekeeping exercise
during the Indonesia Confrontation era and was duly employed in

first group of ships specially reserved by the Malay Federation
government from Vosper Limited company, Portsmouth, England in the
year 1961. The year 1994 saw the Royal Malaysia Navy Force’s
agreement to hand in the ship to PERZIM as to complement the Royal
Malaysian Navy Museum for more public appreciation. PERZIM (Melaka
Museum Corporation) had engaged Naval Dockyard Sdn. Bhd. (Pvt. Ltd)
to conserve the ship at a cost of RM 160,000. On the 6th

to Melaka as it was brought by Megalith Sdn. Bhd. with the help of
the Royal Malaysian Navy Force.
